The Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is calling on the Liberia National Police (LNP) to invite for questing individuals the party claims “are threatening peace in the country ahead of the November 7, 2017 run-off election. “

The CDC makes reference to recent comments by Bomi County Representative elect and incumbent Montserrado County district 6 Representative Edwin Snowe that if the CDC wins, ‘there will be war’, and recent Facebook posts by Rhodoxon Fayiah, Senior Policy Advisor at the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) that if CDC wins, “the people of Grand Gedeh will go back to war,” reflecting back to Grand Gedeh and Nimba County historical rivalry respectively.

The Chairman of the CDC Youth Wing Jefferson Koijee told a news conference at the weekend that the CDC wants the police in collaboration with the International community to ask those individuals for detailed information on threats to the democratic process in the country in the event of a CDC victory in the pending November 7 runoff presidential election.

George Weah’s CDC is meanwhile, calling on President Ellen Johnson Sirlef to intervene like in the case of Education George Warner Facebook post in recent time.

The CDC says it has learnt that the ruling Unity Party (UP) and the opposition Liberty Party (LP) of Charles Brumskine are in talks to press for the setting up of an interim government through representative Edwin Snowe, thus warning the parties to desist from such plan.
