BARCLAYVILLE, Liberia — The President of Grand Kru Technical College (GKTC), Dr. Sarwee Joe-Wiah Faeflen has called for increased budgetary support to the institution, as it plans to expand academic programs.

Dr. Faeflen was speaking during a special intercessory prayer service held at the Harvest Intercontinental Ministries Unlimited Church here in Barclayville.

The prayer service was held during the church’s Sunday worship and brought together college administrators, staff, students, and members of the church congregation.

Senior Pastor of the church, Rev. J. Tenhnecio Wiah Sr., used the occasion to offer prayers for the institution and admonished its leadership to rely on God for guidance.

“Education without God lacks direction,” Rev. Wiah said. “We are praying that God grants wisdom, discipline, and vision to the leadership of Grand Kru Technical College.”

In special remarks, Dr. Faeflen thanked the church for what he described as spiritual reinforcement for the institution.

“We appreciate this spiritual backing, which strengthens our resolve to serve the people of Grand Kru through quality education,” he stated.

The President of the Grand Kru Technical College disclosed that the administration is working to introduce new academic disciplines, including Mass Communications, Religious Studies, and Nursery Education, as part of efforts to broaden educational opportunities in the county.

“Our goal is to expand access to relevant academic programs that respond to the needs of our people,” Dr. Faeflen said.

The College President also emphasized that the realization of these plans depends largely on adequate funding.

“While government continues to support higher education in Grand Kru County, increased budgetary allotment remains critical if we are to effectively implement these programs,” Dr. Faeflen noted.

He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to institutional development.

“We are determined to build a stronger and more competitive Grand Kru Technical College that can meaningfully contribute to county and national development,” he added.

The intercessory prayer service concluded with a dedication of the institution, its students, and staff to God, and a call for unity and collective support for the growth of Grand Kru Technical College.
