In Grand Kru Co: One Dead, Another Critically Injured In Motorbike Accident

BARCLAYVILLE, Liberia- There has been another death on the road in the southeastern Grand Kru County, with the latest involving a commercial motorcycle in which one person reportedly died and another critically injured.

Two motorbikes collided head-on in Barclayville around the J.J Dickson School United Methodist high school on the road to Sass-Town.

Eyewitnesses in said the two motorbikes riders were thrown from their bikes, leaving one of them identified as Jeh Nyeplu of Big Suehn Community dead, while the other, whose name was not immediately known, suffered serious injuries with his left foot broken twice.

Despite the efforts of people who provided emergency  who provided services, Jeh Nyeplu could not make it and pronounced dead at the Barclayville Health Center.

The family members of the late mechanic have been informed of his death.

Jeh Nyeplu was a resident of the Big Suehn Community and a mechanic at the Eric garage in Barclayville.

According to report, the other who suffered a broken foot is said to hail from Karkekpo in Sinoe County, and he was said to be traveling to Maryland County.

He has since been transferred to Harper Maryland County at the J. J Dossen Hospital due to the severity of his injury.

Road accidents are rampant in this area and the rest of southeastern Liberia, claiming lives and leaving many injured almost daily.

Locals here say most of the frequent motor accidents could be prevented, provided the motorcyclists reduce their excessive speeding, remain on their lanes, stop overtaking in curves and on hills.
