In Lofa: Free Pentecostal College graduates 34 @ 6th Post-War Graduation

Voinjama, Liberia– Thirty four students of the Free Pentecostal College in in the northwestern Liberian County of Lofa with Associate Degrees (AA) from the institution.

It was the 6th post-war commencement convocation, where graduates received associate degrees in four disciplines. They came out of the Department of Education, Nursing and the Business and Administration.

Speaking at the graduation on Monday April 8, 2019, the President of the College Dr. Joseph Gland disclosed that the institution remains committed to buttressing government’s efforts in providing quality for its citizens.

“Thou there are lots of challenges currently facing our college, but in the midst of these challenges we can assured you that we will continued to provide quality education for the Liberian people,” Dr. Gland indicated.

Serving as keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony, Lofa county Superintendent, Mr. William Tamba Kamba called on the graduates to identify and add value to their callings if they are to positively impact the society.

For his part, Lofa County Education Officer Dr. James Zuwana underscored the need for government to provide subsidy to private institutions across the Country.

The Lofa Education boss indicated that private institutions are greatly contributing towards the human resource development of the country and as such the need to provide them support cannot be over emphasized.

The Free Pentecostal College in Voinjama, Lofa County established in 1987 in late 2018 introduced three additional departments at the institution.

The departments include the Momo T. Cyrus School of Criminal Justice, Department of Mass Communication and the Department of Agriculture all of which are under the College of Business and Liberal Arts at the County’s first highest institution of learning.

 The Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Security Expert Guard Agency of Liberia Momo T. Cyrus recently donated a 4 Door Pickup college as a way of supporting the institution especially the Momo T. Cyrus School of Criminal Justice.

The Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery (LBNM) has also extended the Ruth Ramstand School of Health Science accreditation to 2020.

The LBNM in a communication to the College dated March 8, 2019 expressed gratitude to the institution of affording it the opportunity to assess the collage from November 7 to 8 2018.

According to the communication, to achieve a full accreditation and recognition status, a school has to meet 80% or above of the achievement standards.

It further indicated that the Ruth Ramstand School of Health Science met 89% of the total standards of 65 and 529 verification criteria in the assessment and as such the institution has obtained a Full Accreditation until 2020.
