CESSTOS, Liberia- A patient who was reportedly denied treatment at the St. Francis government hospital on Monday, September 23, 2019 due to the ongoing Health Workers’

Union go-slow is reported dead.

The victim, Jerry Yoesay was said to have been referred to the St.

Francis Hospital by nurses at the Kploh Community clinic in Zammie

Town, Central Rivercess District during the midnight on Sunday.

He was said to have suffered a severed swollen stratum which begun

with profuse running stomach.

Upon his arrival at the hospital, the victim was left unattended to

for hours after health workers at the hospital resolved in honouring

the plan of the National health Workers Union of Liberia.

Samuel Yoesay, a junior brother and caretaker of the victim told OK

News early Tuesday morning that he was told Monday by health workers

at the St. Francis Hospital that they could not provide medical

services for his brother , but the best option could be taking his

brother to Buchannan or Monrovia.

The St. Francis Hospital is the only referral hospital among the

existing 21 health centers in Rivercess.

Nineteen of the 21 health facilities are public health facilities,

while the Liberia Inland Mission Clinic in Timbo and the Po River

Clinic on the Pillar of Fire Mission in Yarnee District remain the two

private Centers.

The decision prompted the victim, his junior brother (Samuel Yoesay)

and his Wife (Sarah) along with his son who joined them later at the

hospital to book two motorcycles for Buchanan.

While on their way it was when the victim gave up life in Chio Town on

the Cestos Buchanan close Yarpah Town in Rivercess County.

Health authorities in Rivercess are yet to confirm or dismiss the

reported denial of the victim treatment as series of efforts exerted

have proven fruitless so far.
