The Joint Security, in continuation of its zero tolerance enforcement of COVID-19 measures announced by the Ministry of Health has shut down the Stryker Funeral Parlors, with immediate effect until otherwise ordered, the Liberia National Police (LNP) has disclosed.
According to an LNP press release, during the evening hours of Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 3:00 while routine patrol was ongoing by members of the Joint Security, it was observed that the funeral home was conducting a funeral service with over fifty (50) persons in attendance which violates government’s 20 persons mandate for those converging in public places including funeral homes.
Police Inspector General, Patrick Sudue, the funeral home will remain closed to the public until a fine of Two Hundred United States Dollars (US$200) is paid in government’s revenue.
IG Sudue warned that the LNP will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the full implementation of the COVID-19 restrictions as announced by the Ministry of Health.
He urged school administrators, religious leaders, motorists, passengers, and pedestrians to take serious the measures announced by the Ministry of Health, adding that the Joint Security will remain very robust in ensuring compliance of the health protocols.
