Kollah Foundation has been holding a training of trainers’ capacity building workshop for teachers and school administrators in District #6 in Monrovia’s Paynesville suburb.
The Kollah Foundation Institute is comprised of two high schools and a Technical College in Paynesville that has been contributing to quality education for over fifteen years.
The training brought together over a hundred school administrators and teachers across District Six and its environment intended to prepare them for the current academic year.
The training covers the following topics, Lesson Planning, Testing and Evaluation, Classroom presentation, Teaching method and classroom management, Psychological counseling, School administration and supervision, and Ministry of Education Teacher guide respectively.
Speaking at the start of a three-day training on Friday, September 15, 2023, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kollah Foundation, Martin Saye Kollah said regular teachers’ refresher training is vital to the success of teaching.
Mr. Kollah stressed the significance of teachers’ refresher training nothing that it helps maintain strong relationships between teachers and students.
He urged educators to approach their students as they would their children, highlighting the need for care and attention to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
According to him, the trainers of the trainer workshop are to build the capacity and refresher training that will strengthen and prepare them for the academic year.
He urged participants to help share the knowledge acquired with their colleagues and helped pass the knowledge on to the students in making Liberia a better-educated society.
Giving the overview, the Principal of Kollah Foundation Institute Pastor Lee Alexander Wonta noted that the teachers and school administrators training is an annual event organized by the Kollah Foundation aimed at helping to train quality school administrators and classroom teachers across Paynesville City.
He said the CEO of the Foundation recognizes the potential in each teacher and their commitment to building a positive and productive learning environment.
According to Pastor Wonta, the CEO of the Foundation will always strive to deliver the best, and request more similar training sessions in the future to further enhance their skills and expertise as teachers and school administrators.
The training is expected to end next Monday and will be followed by the certification of all participants and schools, respectively.
