Liberia Labour Minister, Cllr. Charles H. Gibson has reinforced the Ministry’s mandate given to the Management of MANO Manufacturing Company in working with the aggrieved workers and it interim leadership.
Consistent with the corrective order issued by the Ministry of Labour on June 13, growing out of Social Dialogue between the Management and aggrieved workers of MANO Manufacturing Company that the elected interim leadership be accepted by the MANO Management.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labour wants full cooperation from the Management of MANO Manufacturing Company and the interim Workers Association to work together to identify and facilitate a referendum to put in place a mother Union that will proceed with CBA negotiations with the Management.
Minister Gibson at the same time instructed the department of Trade Union Affairs and Social Dialogue at the Ministry of Labour, to take charge of the situation and conduct a referendum to put in place a mother union to stair the affairs in the workplace of the Company.
It can be record on June 13, 2022, during a Social Dialogue meeting with management of MANO Manufacturing Company and aggrieved workers, Minister Gibson ordered the Management to halt all deduction of employees’ salaries for remittance as due to workplace association leadership, reinstatement of dismissed employees and requested that mother Union be identified and established to serve as Collective Bargaining Agent for the employees of the Company.
