In Monrovia, the Liberia National Police (LNP) is currently investigating a Lebanese National identified as Malike Dukuly for displaying firearm, after Liberian Court Sheriffs went to issue an arrest Writ.

It is not known whether the Lebanese man has license to carry the firearm in his possession.

Defendant Dukuly has been charged with misapplication of entrusted property and theft of property by the Paynesville Magisterial court in the suburb of the Liberian capital.

The suspect was sued at the Paynesville Magisterial Court by another man for the alleged crime, but he refused to honour the Writ issued by the Court.

After refusing the court order, he was summoned by the Monrovia City Court, and he again refused to respect the court Writ of summons. It was based on that that he held in contempt of court.

According to the Writ of arrest issued by the Monrovia City Court,  ‘defendant Dukuly being there and then induced and influenced by receiving a amount of  US$14,000.00 under the present to purchase a vehicle which the defendant criminally out of deception converted the said amount to their personal use and benefit with the intent to deprive the private prosecutor his right.’

The alleged act committed by the defendant being unlawful, wicked,  criminal and intentional is in violation of section 15.56 and 15.51 of the new penal law of Liberia, the Writ said.
