Health Authorities Tour Bong and Nimba Counties
The rise in the number of cases of the virus comes as Liberian health authorities embark on a tour of two counties–Bong and Nimba, according to a report from NPHIL
Health Minister and Chair of the Incident Management System (IMS), Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, and the Director-General of the National Public Health Institute, Dr. Mosoka P. Fallah, lead a tour of Bong and Nimba Counties in an effort to understand prevailing conditions in those counties.
Speaking in an Incident Management System (IMS) meeting, Dr. Fallah called on the County Health Teams (CHTs) to be proactive.
“The virus is not waiting for you to get prepared before it comes”, Dr. Fallah said.
Bong is the only county in that region that has not recorded a case of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Nimba has recorded 7 confirmed cases and 4 deaths, Lofa has seen all two confirmed cases in dead bodies. In Margibi, 25 confirmed cases have been reported with one death.
