The government of the republic of Liberia has donated three school buses to the Nimba County University, the Karn High School and the Bahn High School in Nimba County.

Making the donation on behalf of the government, the chairman of the Governance Commission of the Republic of Liberia Atty. Garrison Doldeh Yealue, Jr said that the donation is in continuation of the government’s continuous development in the county.

He said that President Weah cares for the people of Nimba and as such, he will continue to support and implement developmental initiatives in the county.

Atty. Yealue, who was recently appointed by President Weah, maintained that president Weah as a cousin of the county loves and cares for the county evidenced by the construction of roads and other infrastructure developments in the county.

The former Nimba district #4 Representative also used the occasion to dispel what he called “rumours being circulated by members of the opposition community” that the president does not care for the people of Nimba.

“As you all know the president mother hailed from Nimba specifically Gbi and Doru and those who are saying he doesn’t care for the county are saying that for their selfish political interest,” he disclosed.

Meanwhile, the president of Nimba University Dr. Jessie Mongrue thanked president Weah and the government of Liberia for their unremitting support to the university. He disclosed that president Weah has always supported Nimba university in every way, including the recent employment and increment of salaries for employees of the institution.

The new Governance Commission boss added that the institution is available to always work with the president and the government of Liberia. “

Dr. Mongrue said Nimba University was grateful to the Liberian leader for always thinking about his institution.

“This is not the president’s first time. Recently, our staffs’ salary was increased and today again, we are receiving a bus from the government headed by president Weah,” Dr. Mongrue stated.

The Nimba University is the only public University in Liberia’s northeastern Nimba County, which was built during the Unity Party government of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
