Monrovia- The headquarters of the Liberia National Police (LNP) on Capitol Hill were on Thursday, July 24, 2025 stormed by members of the Fulani community in large number, who were demanding justice for a fellow Fulani woman, Zainab Bah.
Madam Bah was seen dragged and handcuffed by a Police officer in a Social Media video that viral this week, after she allegedly resisted arrest.
In the viral video, the Fulani woman firstly threw a chair at the police officer and allegedly wasted hot soup on the officer, leaving the officer to handcuff and dragged her along with her two years old son. The officer was also seen removing her hijab from her head.
“We want Justice,” said the protesters.
Some bystanders at the police headquarters view the police action to allow the Fulani protesters to enter the premises of the Liberia National Police as an injustice to ordinary citizens who are usually prevented by the police at the entrance of its headquarters.
Others said, the Fulani protesters’ actions are against the rule of law and out of order.
Should the Christian community protest in case one of its members is maltreated by police officers? another bystander asked.
However, the police leadership instructed the protesters to allow their leader to go with them so that they can engage them at their headquarters in a dialogue to find amicable solution to their grievances.
Meanwhile, the authorities assured the leadership of the Fulani community that they have attacked seriousness to the matter, and that they will get to them in due time.
