Says She Appreciate Ongoing Enforcement Measures, But Police Reveal That 18 Officers Hurt Since The Exercise Started

While some are wrestles and are criticizing the ongoing traffic safety measures being strictly enforced by the Liberia National Police (LNP), others are impressed with the action of the police.
One of them is a Liberian woman, Sonnie Kollie, who has starting serving hot meals to hundreds of police offers being deployed to enforce the no go zone measure and enforcement of the compulsory wearing of helmets by riders and passengers on motorcycles.
In her effort to recognize and appreciate the national duty being performed by Madam Kollie recently made the disclosure to Journalists in the Vamoma House are on the Airfield in Sinkor, Monrovia in the presence of Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman.
She said the kind gesture came in the wake of proper enforcement of no-go zones for motorcyclists being carry out by officers of the Liberia National Police at various checkpoints across major street in Monrovia.
During the distribution of a hot meals and water to police officers at the VAMOMA intersection, Madam Kollie said many Liberians living in the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada and other parts of the world, contributed cash toward the preparation of the food and other items donated to the police officers.
According to her hundred plates of food and bottled water as well as fifty sacs of water were being distribute to police officers in the field carrying out the daily enforcement of the traffic safety measures.
Meanwhile, the IG Gregory Coleman has commended Madam Kollie for her kind gesture towards the LNP, saying that this is a sign of trust in the ongoing efforts of the Liberian police.

IG Coleman used the occasion to call on other Liberians to emulate the good example of Madam Sonnie Kollie as the LNP is striving to restore law and order and protect public safety and promote the wellbeing of all Liberian across the Country, specifically the capital, Monrovia where just 12 miles out of the country’s 43,000 square miles are being considered no-go zones for motorcyclists.
The Police IG also said that for too long the traffic law has been not implemented leaving motorcyclists vulnerable over the past years.
He said the ongoing enforcement excise is meant to swiftly safe motorcyclists from being vulnerable.
Statistics has revealed 18 officers of the LNP have been victimized, since the start of enforcement excise the Police IG concluded, IG Coleman revealed.
