Liberia’s CMO, Dr. Kateh Cautions Locals In Bong To Take COVID-19 Fight Seriously

GBARNGA, Bong County- Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Francis Kateh on Wednesday July 1, 2020 urged citizens of Bong County to take seriously the fight against the coronavirus and avoid politicizing the process.

Dr. Kateh maintained that the coronavirus is real and as such citizens of the county needs to join government and partners in combatting the virus in Liberia.

The Liberia Chief Medical Officer worried that Bong County might experience the re-occurrence of the Ebola outbreak in 2014, if much care is not taken.

He said it’s crucial that citizens adhere to the restrictions that remain in place and continue to take basic precautions to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in the County.

He believes that these different precautions measures are citizens best defense against the coronavirus and are necessary to save lives.

Dr. Kateh further encouraged the citizens to play their part in the fight against the COVID-19.

For his part, Bong County Health Officer, Dr. Adolphus Yeiah said the County might record many cases due to citizens’ denial that the virus is real.
