LNBA Pres. Candidate Cllr. Barbu: “I Will Ensure My Leadership Be Agreeable”

A constitutional lawyer and a professor at the Louis Arthur school of law Cllr. Dr. Jallah A. Barbu has been unveiling his platform, as he campaigns to contest the presidency of the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) in its upcoming election later this month.

Cllr. Jallah, who is among several Lawyers contesting the race, said his leadership will be an agreeable one if elected president of Bar. The convention-election is slated for from November 25 -29, 2021.

He said he will include all three branches of the Liberian government in collaboration with the LNBA.

The Liberian Lawyer was speaking his formal campaign launching ceremony in Monrovia over the weekend.

Cllr. Barbu named Leading Responsibly, Serving Professionally and Engaging Holistically which are key issues to his leadership.

He said the three branches of government will be included while doing that he will make sure that the integrity of the Bar is not overlooked or downplayed by any official of government.

According to Cllr. Barbu, when elected as president of the LNBA, he will ensure that every council member of the Bar will be will be respected and their decision will be taken responsibly.

“I will ensure that my leadership is agreeable, no lawyer will have to spend long time to what he or she wants,” Cllr. Barbu said.

The Law School Professor promised to worked tirelessly as president of the Bar stating that, the president should not but to engage lawyers because the Bar is a responsible institution of the society.

The Bar, he said, will not be a Montserrado-based association but it will be visible and active across Liberia

Cllr. Barbu furthered that he will speak to the leaders of the Supreme Court Bench in the most respectful manner.

Accordingly, he said that the Bar will extend its legal services to non-legal institutions like the Traditional Council, Civil Society and the Liberia Council of Churches.

The LNBA presidential hopeful maintained that under his administration, lawyers will be more accountable to their client because he is bringing on board integrity, producing innovation, character and loyalty, and knowledge and experience to the LNBA so that the association can be respected.
