Lot Is At Stake In Bong County District #2 By-Election, Candidates Assure Voters

GBARNGA, Liberia- Ahead of the November 16 Bong County District #2 Representative by-election, candidates are intensifying their campaign activities, giving various assurances as they seek the votes of citizens.

With just days to the conduct of the polls, many electorates have pledged their support to the Representative bid of Atty. Jefferson Lawunkolo Blackie of the Rainbow Alliance.

There are 12 candidates vying for the Jorquelleh District#2 Representative seat,

 

According to the electorates, who include women and first time voters, said is based on the many developmental undertaken of Mr. Blackie over the years in the district and across County.

He cited the rehabilitation of farm to market roads, the provision of tuition aid for school going kids, micro loan for the women and youth empowerments and other infrastructure developments, which he said are priorities the citizens of Jorquelleh district number two.

The citizens believe that when their Son is elected, he can make strategic interventions in order to transform their lives for the better.

They said when their son is elected to the House of Representatives, he will continue his developmental initiatives across the District because according to them, he is a true son of the soil and a patriot.

They said Atty. Blackie have lived with them since birth, and they would continue to work with them despite he isn’t in government but the well-being of his people remains of paramount concerns.

According to them, people of the area are satisfied and confident that the Rainbow Alliance candidate is the right leader who can make the necessary change and put smiles on the faces of the ordinary people.

“Don not  bother to come to Tolomanai during the campaign period, because Tolokpala is already yours and is fully  secure for you,” said Moses Dolo, a resident of the area.

Josiah Killie, age, 28, another residents of Tolomanai promised to campaign from door to door, towns to towns, from village to village across the District, in order to ensure Atty. Blackie is elected to the house of parliament.

Also speaking, Jeremiah Mulbah, a resident of Tormue called on all eligible voters in the district to come up in their numbers and vote Atty. Blackie for the livelihood improvement of the district and its people, despite the influx of candidates.

Another resident, Marie Killie, age 36, a resident of Leleh encouraged her fellow women electorates to turnout in their numbers on election day to vote their own son for the overall development of the District.

The Leleh native also reminded Atty. Blackie to at the same time see as priority the issue of reconciliation, the reconditioning of farm to market roads and women empowerment which she stressed is the major catalyst to lasting development in the District, the County and the Country at large.

“He is our son and we are so proud of him, we’re hopeful that under his watch as Representative unlike before, Jorquelleh district#2 will be developed,”  David Gbarnkollie, a resident of Kokoyah Road community added.

“Blackie is support toward school going kids in the district, his support to market women and the rehabilitation of farm to market roads, of our roads are all things he’s doing.”

Atty. Blackie said, when elected to the House of Representatives, he will work with his colleagues at both Houses to improve the healthcare delivery system of the District, education, agriculture, the legal representation of the people and roads.

However, he pointed out that his current work today across the District will speak for him and convince his people if he will be elected in the by-election comes November 16, 2021.
