A leadership crisis has erupted within the Montserrado County Students Association (MONSU).

MONSU’s leadership recently announced the expulsion of its President.

The students’ union says it has expelled the President of the union and the latest decision was taken through its Vice President and two other members of the union to expel the current president Patrick Saye for alleged theft, mismanagement of funds, conspiracy, and delinquency.

Mr. Saye has since dismissed the claim.

Speaking at the press conference at its headquarter in Sinkor, Monrovia earlier this weekia, the Vice President of MONSU, Fatumata Dolleh in flanked by the Secretary-General, Abednego Wamah and Chernor Barry, Financial Secretary, explained that the decision taken by their leadership to expelled the current president of the union was based on several offenses which breach their institution’s constitution.

The decision taken by VP Dolleh and others was after the president of MONSU suspended VP Dolleh and Abednego Wamah secretary general for Theft, Mismanagement of funds Conspiracy, and delinquency.

According to his press statement, both Fatumata P. Dolleh and Abednego Wamah on several times have received money on behalf of the institution but refused to report to the executive as well as the membership of their institution.

“Yesterday was quite unfortunate as we witnessed a lunatic of a President in one Patrick N. Saye electing not only to embarrass himself, but also to derail the reputation and institutional decency of the Montserrado County Students’ Union-MONSU-something which we’ve dedicated and invested our time, effort, and resources during our service here”, miss Dolleh noted.

The embattled MONSU President, Patrick Saye is said to have attempted to suspend Fatumata Princess Dolleh, Vice President and Abednego Wamah, (Secretary General), respectively.

“This attempt isn’t only illegitimate by the constitution, administration, and reasoning, but it is way laughable and should not be taken seriously. It also says a whole lot about how much of a punk is Patrick. His action is a clever way of escaping from being chastised by the majority of the executive leadership for his failure to account for institutional funding during the just-ended National County Academic Meet-2023,” the embattled VP added.

Ms. Dolleh dismissed the action of the embattled President Says, but he is defending his action.

She has threatened to file formal complaint to the Liberia National Police.

Mr. Saye is yet to react to the latest threat by MONSU officials he was said to have expelled.
