The National Road Fund (NRF) has officially launched its third cohort internship program for professionals of undergraduate accredited universities in the Monrovia and other institutions in the country.
Speaking at the official launching ceremony, the Fund Manager of the National Road Fund, Joseta Neuville-Wento warned the beneficiaries against any acts that will undermine their credibility during the internship.
According to Madam Wento, the internship will focus on science, technology, engineering agriculture and mathematics.
The Fund Manager of the National Road Fund admonished the students to take advantage of the internship to gain some professional experience.
She cautioned the professionals should also adopt good manners in communications because their utterances will some determine their manners in addressing their fellow human beings.
Madam Wento strongly warned that any call from any source pleading for any of the candidates seeking admittance on the program constitutes the disqualification of that candidate because the process will transparent, fair and void of outside interference.
She also encouraged professionals to read and make research in their sectors in order to prepare them for the various that make be assigned areas to do their internships
“It is our hope that you selection here will go a long way in impacting your skills,’ she said ; adding: “ the NRF will continue to serve as a beacon of hope for undergraduates who will walk through walls.:
In welcome remarks, the NRF’s Financial Officer, James Sumo, said the gathering marked a significant journey because within the few weeks, candidates will undergo vigorous training during the period of their internship
Remarking during the program, NRF’s Chief Program Officer, Albert Samukai, admonished the interns to serve as ambassadors of the NRF because some of the them will be with government institutions while others will doing their internship with private institutions
Samukai admonished the professionals to exhibit good behavior, be innovative and always show the willingness to learn and have the first job training.
On December 12, 2016 the National Road Fund Act, was enacted and published January 26, 2017.
The National Road Fund Office (NRFO) is located between 9th and 10th Street, Payne Avenue, Sinkor.
The NRFO is responsible for the day to day management and administration of the National Road Fund and headed by the National Road Fund Manager, Republic of Liberia.
A National Road Fund for the purpose of financing road and bridge maintenance works and directly associated planning, programming and management activities;
The governance and oversight of the Road Fund including the approval of the Annual Road Maintenance Expenditure Program submitted by agencies authorized to undertake road and bridge works in Liberia.
