The newly elected President of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA) has stressed the need for peace and reconciliation, in order to improve the lives and members of the organization.

Madam Elizabeth Sambola said internal wrangling within the LMA has the propensity to obstruct its progress and impede the development of its members.

Madam Sambola spoke earlier this week (Wednesday) during her official certification by the Adhoc Election Commission of the LMA.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Election Commission, Samuel Johnson, thanked members of the association for their cooperation in the conduct of the election for new leadership.

They will serve a four year term.

For his part, the interim Chairman of the LMA, Counselor Luseni Bility, thanked the marketers for the peaceful election.

He said the induction will take place following consultation with President Weah’s office.

Others certificated by were Cecelia Weah, National Vice President; Patrick Sarti, National Secretary General; Patrick Jolo National Assistant Secretary General and Oldlady Sneh, National Chaplain.

It remains to be seen how long the new leadership stays on, considering previous allegations of continuous interference in the association’s politics by government and opposition political actors.
