Nimba, Liberia- Citizens in this northeastern County are appealing to incumbent Senator Thomas Grupee to refuse apparently friendly calls from his colleague, Senator Prince Yormie Johnson, in the wake of allegation that Senator Johnson is responsible of his illness.

The citizens voiced out their statements on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 on the Voice of Gompa Radio in Gompa City (Ganta), ahead of the December 8 Midterm Senatorial election..

Their reactions came after Sen. Grupee had said he is back in Liberia from the United States. ”I am well now and in Liberia. And those who bewitched me is their business.”

Earlier, Sen. Grupee had reacted to Sen. Johnson’s assertion while he (Grupee) was in America that anyone who had confronted him from Nimba in the past, a spell had befallen them and they have not lived to tell the story.

According to Senator Grupee he received a phone call from Senator Johnson telling him welcome to Liberia and that he has also been in prayers for him.

Sen. Johnson in a leak audio recently said Nimbians who disregard him, including Senator Grupee had and would suffer the outcome.

With this statement circulating in the county, some citizens are advising Mr. Grupee to distance himself from Sen. Johnson since he is now well.

However, some locals in Nimba also disagreed with Se. Grupee why he  said is not in support  of the lawsuit against the County’s Project Management Committee (PMC) process.

The citizens maintained that they cannot afford to do what is not right.

“We need to change the system of bad governance in the county,” some of them said.

Many Nimbaians are strongly supporting the court process on the PMC.

Recently, Sen. Prince Johnson selected three persons to spearhead the County PMC process, which was condemned by three Nimba Lawmakers including Rep. Samuel G. Kogar District #5, Rep. Prince O. S. Tokpah District 2, and Lawmaker Larry P. Younquoi District 8.
