The National Public Health Institute of Liberia has stepped its campaign aimed at preventing and curbing the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic among the populace throughout this country.
As a part of its campaign, NPHIL during the weekend held a one-day training of trainers’ workshop for more than 77 members of the National Muslim Task Force of Liberia in Monrovia.
At the opening ceremony, NPHIL’s Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Peter Bemah, who spoke on behalf of NPHIL Director General, Dr. Mosoka Fallah, cautioned participants to take advantage of the training in order to break the circle of transmission corona virus in Liberia.
According to Mr. Bemah, there is a need to follow the protocols put in place by NPHIL and the Ministry of Health because is major means through which Liberia will defeat the killer virus.
According to Mr. Bemah, NPHIL is interested in the population knowing the means through which they can protect themselves and break the transmission of the disease.
“Your responsibility as a task force member is to carry the message in order for our people will be save in the expectation that Liberia will declared free out of Coronavirus,” he told the audience.
“The manner of approach also counts in educating our people about the danger of the disease and the protocols in preventing oneself and those of the rest of the community.”

The Executive Director of the National Muslim Task Force of Liberia , Mohamed Bah, said the force was established purposely assist the Muslim community in adhering to the protocols put in place by the health authorities in combating corona virus.
He explained that two members of the task force will be assigned at each Mosque so as the encourage worshippers to wash their hands, wear their face masks, each person to a praying mat and maintain the social distancing.
“You are now been commissioned as ambassadors to fight carry out the message to the people against the spread of corona virus,” Mr. Bah said; adding: “ Nobody can protect yourself against this disease than you who are under our voices undergoing this training.”
The workshop, which was facilitated by NPHIL, brought together a cross session of people from the Muslim community including nurses, students, security, teachers youth and women groups
During the training, Victoria Folko , Infection Prevention and Control Team Leader at the Monyserrado County health team, spoke on donning and doffing of face mask, Marline Wesseh, Infection Prevention Control at the Montserrado County Health Team, lectured on hand washing and respiratory hygiene and Dr. Mediatee Johnson presented a paper on the prevention of corona virus, among others.
