One More COVID-19 Death In Liberia, As # Of Cases Rise To 88

Liberia now has 88 confirmed cases of  Coronavirus, with the number of death increasing from seven and eight.

This was confirmed to www.newspublictrust.com on Sunday, April 19, 2020 via mobile phone by Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Francis S. Kateh.

In the last COVID-19 Update, the number of recorded Coronavirus confirmed cases was at 76, meaning since then there has been 12 additional confirmed cases of the killer virus.

Earlier, Health authority from the Jackson F. Doe Memorial hospital in Tappita, lower Nimba County pronounced a confirmed COVID-19 case involving a Liberian Journalist known as Jeremiah Gayflor.

Mr. Gayflor, who is tested positive of the virus, is a sport reporter at the Voice of Tappital in Lower Nimba County.

Speaking to this news outlet, the Deputy Administrator of the Jackson F. Doe hospital, Ebenezar Stretton said Mr. Gayflor visited the hospital on last week and suspected of COVID 19 and specimen was taken from and brought to Monrovia for laboratory test.

Mr. Stretton disclosed that the specimen test surfaced in the county on Saturday April 18, 2020 where Mr. Gayflor’s result came down positive and currently contact tracing is ongiong in Lorma quarter where the Journalist is residing.

Prior to his confirmation of COVID 19, Mr. Gayflor complained to his colleagues at voice of Tappita few weeks ago that he has been vimitting and tioleting on himself but he later went at the Jackson F. Doe memorial hospital where he was admitted and recovered from said illness.

The Jackson F. Doe memorial hospital has recorded two confirmed cases of COVID-19, one of whom died recently and the second is the Journalist.
