Police in Lofa County investigate another mysterious death, with suspect arrested

Police in Liberia’s northwestern Lofa County are currently investigating the mysterious death of a 23-year-old woman in Foya City.

According to the Police investigators, the woman identified as Sarah F. Moses, is a resident of Kpangamia town in Foya district.

Her decomposed body was discovered by an elderly man identified as Joseph Saah Laminee.

The corpse of the woman was discovered and reported to the police by Mr. Laminee on March 3, 2019 at three hours GMT.

It is believed that he incident occurred since February 26, 2019.

A team of LNP/CSD investigators were dispatched to the crime scene after the case was reported.

At the crime scene, it was observed that what appeared to be a sharp instrument/cutlass was allegedly use to cut the deceased on her left hand, which might have led to her death.

A 15-man jury constituted to examine the body of the late Sarah F. Moses revealed that there was foul-play evident of the deep cut on the left hand of the deceased.

Meanwhile, a 25 years old man identifies as Francis S. Matthew who is said to be the lover of the deceased and is currently being investigated by police in Lofa County’s capital, Voinjama after being on the run for few days.

He is suspected of killing his 23 years old lover.

Some residents of the town said that the deceased and her boy friend currently on the run have had serious misunderstanding in recent times, something that may have resulted into the incident.

Meanwhile, police in the county are also questioning five persons in relation to the mysterious death of Sarah Moses.

Those being questioned as Joseph Saah Laminee,  Saah Kolay,  Saah Fallah, a local youth leader, Glamah Varmaht and Fayiah Blama, all of whom are from the town.
