Monrovia, Liberia – The President of the Republic and Standard-bearer of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Dr. George Manneh Weah has been touring communities in and around Monrovia ahead of next Tuesday’s runoff election.

President Weah, accompanied by members of the CDC campaign team, walked from point to point, identifying with citizens from one community to another, encouraging them to exercise their right to vote during the runoff election. He also urged them to vote #2 on the ballot for peace.

President Weah began the tour in District 4, the first stop being the Duport Road Market, where he told cheering supporters about the importance of exercising their constitutional right during the ensuing runoff poll.

“I am here to listen to you and to thank you for voting during the first round of elections on October 10th,” he told the crowds of predominantly women.

He said he was in the market area to encourage citizens “because we learned that most of you didn’t vote and we are here encourage you to vote, to exercise your right.”

President Weah told the marketers who comprised his supporters and well-wishers that it was important for them to vote for the leader of their choice and thereby have a voice and to equally own the government.

The CDC Standard-bearer also made door-to door stoppages, chatted with citizens, listened to their views, and most importantly, urged them to vote #2 for “peace, progress, and prosperity.”

President Weah said that though he had wished for a first-round victory in the October 10 poll, he was pleased with the result, which put him over his rivals.

From Duport Road, President Weah drove through the Soul Clinic community before touring the FDA
community, and later the Cooper Farm area.
