Program launched for young Liberian scholars to study in China

An educational None Governmental Organization (NGO) in Liberia has launched a program for young Liberian scholars to study at 26 Universities in the People’s Republic of China.

The NGO, known as the Mohammed Lassana Sanoe Study Abroad, is encouraging young scholars in Liberia to take advantage of a number of scholarships on offer.

The organization was launched at a well-attended program held at the YMCA in Monrovia on Wednesday

Speaking during the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Mohammed Sanoe said the scholarship covers residence and tuition for bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees.

Mr. Sanoe disclosed that he discovered the program while he was attending in Ghana, took advantage of it and currently doing his master degree program

Because of his desire to assist fellow Africans, Sanoe said he has established this program purposely to make it easy for Africans to study abroad, because getting government scholarship is not easy.

According to him, the entire cost is between 2,500 and 4,500 United States Dollars, depending on the university and the region.

Mr. Sanoe about 16 students from Liberia Lesotho and Ghana are currently benefitting from the program and more are about to leave for scholarship studies in China soon.

On the issue of requirements, he said each student must present good grade academic record, police report, medical report and transcript of last school attended.
