“Prophet Key” Escapes The Wrath Of Protesting Women On The Grounds Of Monrovia Court

TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia-The grounds of the seat of the Liberian Judiciary on Capitol Hill was a scene of disruption recently, when hundreds of women believed to be supporters of Cultural Ambassador, Julie Endee besieged the Monrovia City Court in protest demanding that the controversial Facebook figure, “Prophet Key” be sent to jail.

Ambassador Endee who recently filed a lawsuit against prophet key for his post which she claimed brought her reputation into public disrepute by accusing her of loving to former president George Weah, and other government officials including Unity Party secretary general Amos Tweh to retain her post.

Prophet Key is also accused threatened her that he will ensure that she never has the opportunity to work in any other government in her lifetime, something that, according to her, places her in fear.

The hearing of the case at the Monrovia City Magisterial Court triggered tension and prophet key narrowly escaped unharmed due to the quick intervention of riot officers of the Liberia National Police who were swiftly contacted by authorities of the Supreme Court.

As the fracas continued, employees of the Judiciary including Judges and Justices were standing on second, third and four floors watching the protest of the women but failed to act.

“Prophet Key” in court

The protesting women were shouting and calling Ambassador Julie Endee hero, hero.

It all started when the Monrovia city court issued a writ of arrest against prophet key who ambassador Endee claimed that prophet key threatened her on his social platforms stating he will ensure that she never has the opportunity to work in any government in Liberia which caused her fear and distress

She also claimed that prophet key’s action was intended to bring her to public ridicule and shame.

It was based on her accusations that the court charged prophet key Criminal coercion menacing and disorderly.

Prophet key was later advised by the court to file his criminal appearance bond on Tuesday February 20,2024 and failure on his part, he will be imprisoned according to a mandate from Magistrate Ben Barco.

Immediately upon hearing magistrate Barco decision not to imprisoned prophet key as anticipated by Julie Endee and her supporters who have jam parked the premises of the court engage into insults openly with prophet key, while others were booing him.

Their actions were in clear violations of the law. This is the second time for ambassador Endee and her supporters to have gone to the court with the intent to intimidate and install fear in magistrate Barco to decide in their favor.

Disappointingly, magistrate Barco despite the intimidation of the women protest chose to follow the law by advising prophet key legal team to requisite bond.

Currently, prophet key is enjoying a temporary bond known as personal recognizance.

The protest action by the women group, has not been publicly condemn by the supreme court as were done in other cases which pre-supposes that the judiciary is in favor of the women group continue protest.

This points to the fact that the Supreme Court justices are in favor women actions continue protest actions

Some of the women held placards with inscriptions “Respect for all women is key” in front of the Monrovia City Court.

Meanwhile, the Monrovia City court has issued a writ of Ne-Exeat Republica (prevent him from leaving Liberia) and has also been given 24-hour ultimatum after a pre-trial conference was held in the judge’s chambers.

A writ of Ne-Exeat Republica is a writ issued to restrain a person from leaving the jurisdiction of the court pending an action.
