The Management and Board of advisors of the mother community radio station based in Voinjama city, Lofa County have launched a partnership program code named, “Radio Kintoma Partners” program.
The partnership program, according to the Radio Station Management, is to help provide support and encouragement for the more than 20 volunteers currently at the biggest community radio station in the county’s capital.
Launching the partnership, Manager Tokpa Tarnue said the initiative is opened to everyone in Lofa, the rest of Liberia and other parts of the world.
The partners he said includes individuals, families as well as institutions some of whom he said have already begun committing themselves to paying a minimum amount of $500 Liberian Dollars and above as a monthly support towards the initiative launched by the Radio Station.
“Currently, there are a total of 14 registered partners to the station,” Manager Tarnue indicated.
Individuals, families, and institutions expressing interest he said are automatically added to a WhatsApp group, “Radio Kintoma Partners”, in order to keep all of its partners up to date with the partnership program.
The Radio Station Management said it is targeting at least 500 potential partners who will do a monthly contribution towards the smooth running of the station.
Contributions according to Manager Tokpa Tarnue can be done through special mobile accounts currently opened in the name of the Radio Station.

Manager Tokpa Tarnue, who is Liberia’s 2021 Integrity Icon award winner, said the process will be highly transparent and that funds generated from the partnership program will be properly accounted for at the end of each month.
Mr Tarnue also disclosed that the station has begun engaging other Media partners for capacity building for her volunteers ahead of the 2022 general and presidential elections in the country.
“A peaceful and successful election as a country depends on the performance of the Media as the one that sets the agenda,” the Radio Kintoma Manager Tarnue lamented.
Radio Kintoma has won the PUL Community Radio Station of the year award twice, but the ownership and support by the community over the years remains a major challenge for previous and current managements.
