A former top-ranking officer of the Liberia National Police (LNP) has returned to his native land (Liberia) with a Master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Maryland in the United States of America.

Moses Williams, a former head of Forensic Department of the LNP in April 2022 obtained a Master’s degree from the Mary University in Project Management years after he won the United States Diversity Visa Lottery.

Mr. Williams, a member of the first graduates of the William Booth Salvation Army High School on the Pipeline Road in Paynesville walked out of the walls of high school in 1998 with a High School Diploma and a WAEC Certificate.

He later enrolled at the University of Liberia where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry.

He also completed a diploma study at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, GIMPA prior to leaving for the USA.

Speaking at the celebration of his Master’s degree program at his newly constructed home near Mount Barclay, Mr. Williams said he was grateful to God for the achievement in a different, but advanced society and environment.

“Today, all I can say is I am so happy that I can have my family members come around to celebrate with me. At first in the US, it was not easy, but indeed it was worthy,” Moses K. Williams told a cheering crowd of family members, loved ones and well-wishers.

According to him, he started on a very challenging note, but as time went by and connection with friends and professors at the Mary University, he coped with the system quickly and began to make strides for excellent something that eventually led to him graduating with a 3.7 GPA (Grade Point Average).

He used the occasion and expressed thanks and appreciation to God Almighty for granting him the opportunity to find himself in that part of the world with legal status urging others to be patient and wait for their God’s destined and appointed times saying, “To everything, there is time and a season”.

Making remarks at the program, friends and family members joined the celebrant and thanked God for the accolade saying that it was such a wonderful and historic day for him and his family and Liberia as a whole.

“Who would have thought that he could have returned to his native land with a Master’s degree,” one friend wondered.

There are others who go to that great land and totally forget about themselves coming either as a deportee or otherwise, but our friend and brother returned with a Master’s degree,” another friend pointed out.

The program was graced by friends, family members and well-wishers from Bong and other parts of the country as a show of love, respect and gratitude to the celebrant.

Mr. Williams concluded by telling his people to pray with him as he pursues another Master’s degree saying, “It is never too old to learn especially when one is well and has no medical or health complications or concerns”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Williams is expected to leave Liberia today, Tuesday, February 14, 2023; this lovely Valentine’s Day to return to the USA and join his family in that part of the world.
