Over fifty orphans at the Children’s Ministry Orphanage home in Balamah Town, Suakoko district in Bong County are appealing for support from humanitarians and the national government.
In a chat with them last weekend, the orphans named book bags, copy books, higher education, medication and food as some of the major items they need.
Some of the orphans, who expressed interest in being lawmakers, lawyers, educators among other professionals, expressed fear that their dreams may not be fulfilled if there’s not enough support.
Though the orphanage has a sponsor but one person cannot make every dreams come through they maintained.
Some of these orphans told this Reporter that they have being at the Children’s Ministry Orphanage over fifteen years now after the death of their parents, some were abandoned, while some do not know how they got there.
The Children’s Ministry Orphanage Home was founded on March 16, 1988, and has been running in Gardnerville, outside Monrovia, until 2005 when they moved to Balama, Suakoko district, in Bong County.
“We are here taking care of orphans and children who lack support from parents. Thankfully, some of them have enrolled at the University of Liberia (UL) and the Cuttington University respectively,” says Madam D.S. Williams one of the administrators.
