Turkish Company to invest in Liberia ICT sector

A Turkish company has announced plans aimed to invest  over  US$100,000 in the Information, Communication and Technological  (ICT) sector in Monrovia.

The company known as the MITS Co has already been in contact with some companies supplying wireless technologies, solar systems and wireless ICT equipment for sale and use.

As part of its preparations for the establishment, the Turkish company embarked on the training of over 150 young people in information, communication and technologic.

Speaking shortly after the first day of the training this week, the Chief Technical Officer, Mani Raissdana, said the investment  in Liberia will be the first on African Continent.

Also speaking, the Sale Manager of Ligo Wave, Mantas Grigalevicius, said their products are made in Europe and currently having braches in China, Turkey and Atlanta, the United States.

According to the Sales Manager, the company has established contact with some companies purposely to be supplying the Liberian market with the latest IT equipment.

When fully established, the company will be able to employ about 30 persons in the first five years and the number will increase gradually.

The Turkish nationals called on Liberians to take advantage of the ICT training, because this country cannot advance in the absence of information technology

They said Liberia has a bright future for investment in terms of the information, communication and technology field due to the secure business environment.

Most of the participants in the training are said to be students at from the Blue Crest University, Smart Institute, Orange Liberia, the Stalla Maria Polytechnic and international nongovernmental organizations operating in the country.
