US Promises Continuous Support To The AFL

As Defense Attaché Presents Anti COVID-19 Materials In Monrovia

The Defense Attaché at the United States Embassy near Monrovia says the US Army cherishes the cordial working relationship existing between the Armed Forces of Liberia and US military. Colonel Matthews Alden said it is based on this back ground that the United States Army will always stand by the AFL in these difficult times in the country.

Colonel Alden spoke in Monrovia recently when the US Defense Attaché donated personal protective equipment, thousands of nose masks and disinfectants worth thousands of the United States Dollars to the Armed Forces of Liberia at the Ministry of National Defense.

“We value the relationship that is existing the  United States Army and the Armed Forces of Liberia especially in the fight against covid-19 that ravaged the world,” Colonel Alden said,

He commended the efforts of the Ministry of National Defense and the Armed Forces of Liberia for their roles in the fight covid-19 in the country.

Col. Alden added that the personal protective equipment, sanitizers, nose masks and body suits will go a long way in helping the AFL in combat this deadly disease has spread all over the world.

Receiving the items, National Defense Minister, Daniel Ziankahn, thanked the United States government and people for considering the donation of PPEs, nose masks and disinfectants to the AFL.

He said these donation came at the right time; adding : “ we have been standing in shoulder to shoulder in the past especially during the fights against Ebola.”

Minister Ziankahn assured the United States Armed Forces that the items will used to protect soldiers especially those assigned in the field out of Monrovia.

“This donation did come as a surprise and no better time than this as we admonished the Chief of Staff of the AFL , Major General , Prince Johnson to ensure that these items are used for the intended purpose.”

According to the Defense Minister, the AFL currently has soldiers deployed in several parts of the country including EBK Barrack, in Grand Gedeh, Bong, Lofa  Counties and Camp Ware.

The recent program was graced by senior of Ministry of National Defense top brass of the Armed Forces of Liberia, staff of the United States Defense Attaché and Security Cooperation office.
