US$500,000 road project initiated by Sen Armah Jallah in Gbarpolu

A road construction project estimated to cost half a million United States dollars has been started in Gbarpolu County by Senator Armah Zolu Jallah, who is also President Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate.

The road links White Flower to Gbalazuah in Bopolu District.

Pro Temp Jallah the Gbarpolu  County Legislative Caucus said the 10km road initiative is intended to provide economic, social and developmental relief to thousands of inhabitants and businesses in the area outside.

A release from the lawmaker’s office says the project is a response to a unanimous request from citizens of the area.

The road project is estimated at USD 50,000, according to engineers contracted to do the construction.

“I want quality work done on the road because during the rainy season, travelling from one point to the other within Gbarpolu County is always tedious”, Sen. Jallah noted.

He further added that “my responsibility as direct representative of the people is to provide that necessary relief”.

The statement also quotes him as promising to undertake similar road works in Kangama, Gumbahyai and Dorkota-Kpanta in the soonest possible time.

Senator Jallah believes that that infrastructural development encourages, facilitates and expedites development with an increase in population activities.

Some of his recent undertakings include a USD 75,000 road construction and the opening of two streets in Bopolu City, according to the release.

After the completion of the ongoing White Flower to Gbalazuah road project, works on five other roads connecting various towns and districts will commence.

A road project undertaken by citizens of Belle District to connect it to other parts of Gbarpolu County are also said to be funded by Senator Jallah
