Visiting Islamic Cleric from Zimbabwe pays courtesy call on VP Howard-Taylor

Visiting Islamic Cleric, Dr. Ismail Musa Menk, Grand Mufti of Zimbabwe, has   paid a courtesy call on Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor, at the Presidential Palace in Gbarnga, Bong County.

Dr. Menk is in the country at the invitation of the Al-Noor Foundation for Islamic Development in Liberia.

A release from the office of the Vice president said the Liberian Vice President hosted the learned Islamic Leader and his delegation to an indoor chat at which the importance of religious tolerance and freedom featured highly.

The two according to the release, shared pleasantries and the Mufti extended invitation to the Vice President to attend the lectures being held under the theme ‘Light of Knowledge’.

At the close of the indoor discussions, the two emerged on the stairs of the Palace where they briefed the press on their cordial discussions which spanned the need to uphold love and mutual respect among people of diverse religious persuasions.

They told reporters that the exchange was about issues relating to development, peace, reconciliation and respect for one another regardless of differences

Chief Dr. Taylor said it would be very helpful  if humankind could fully appreciated the fact that all peoples are from the same tree and that our lives can only become better if love, understanding, and companion prevailed.

The Mufti, for his part, concurred with the Vice President and added that the message he is preaching during his engagements centers on tolerance and love, which he considers the indispensable cornerstone of nation building and mercy from the Common Creator.

The Mufti Musa is an internationally acclaimed Islamic Cleric visiting Liberia from Zimbabwe.

He has many years of experience in Islamic Jurisprudence. His lectures and teaching are on peaceful coexistence, and unity in diversity.
