VP Howard-Taylor gets big International Award

-But US Visa delay prevented her from personally being in New York to get the prize

Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has been awarded the Global Inspirational Leadership awards by the Centre for Economic and Leadership Development (CELD), just days after the delayed issuance to her of a US restricted visa.

But the Liberian Vice President could not being in the US to personally received the honour , which was conveyed on her at the Africa Women Forum (AWF) New York 2018, held march 23, in the United States of America.

A press release from VP Howard-Taylor’s office on Wednesday said this award is presented to women and organizations who are working to promote innovation, development collaborations and partnerships in their communities,

It is also presented to those making inroads for others, in a bid to encourage a replication of more efforts in this direction.

Though the Vice President was not in attendance at the occasion due to other busy schedules, the Gender Office in the Office of the VP Ms. Georgia, Gage, received the award on behalf of Madam Howard-Taylor, the press release said.

Madam Gage expressed appreciation for the award, saying that Vice president was honored by the presentation from such prestigious body, advocating the advancement of women in the world.

The Africa Women Forum forms part of the series of Centre for Economic and Leadership Development- CELD’s unprecedented Emerging Economies Women Equity & Development Forums.

The event was held under the theme: Fostering Global Partnerships and Collaborations in Delivering SDGs: Women Empowerment in Focus.
