VP Jewel Howard-Taylor Advises Liberian Girls To Aim For Higher Heights

Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor is encouraging young girls to begin planning their future by aspiring to becoming women who will be  responsible, fetch for themselves and then aim for higher heights in  any undertaking in the society.

She urged young girls to dream and ensure that the dream is realized by acquiring education, skills, in order contribute meaningfully to the changing world of Liberia is a part.

Vice President Taylor made the assertion when she spoke at a one-day mentorship forum organized by the Books Before Boys in Monrovia during the weekend.

.The Vice President explained that over the last 20 and more years women leaders in Liberia have been in the full front of advocating for young girls to be given the space to grow, learn, dream and  inspire to be become productive women.

She expressed concern about the social activities of some young people who have been carried away by material gain instead of preparing themselves for the future.

“So as a leader, you have be yourself because you are the value of who you are,” she said; adding: “it doesn’t matter where you come from, it can West Point, Slip Way and Old Road , you have to make your dream a reality.”

“What matters is that God has given you a life and you need determine your dreams because the sky is just the beginning and once you make your minds that is what you want to do or be, you have to be confident in yourself.”

According to her, every child is born with a dream and it is left for the child to grow up and achieve a reality by support of the family and the society.

Meanwhile, the Liberian Vice President has strongly warned young girls against ruining their lives by engaging unwholesome activities that will expose them to ricks and hold themselves in high esteem so as to command the respect of their male counterparts

She cautioned them not to be influenced by materials things that will eventually ruin their lives, end up in frustrating them and send them to their early graves.

Vice President Taylor admonished the girls to be mindful of social activities including their dress code, establishing relationships and be mindful of sexual at early age.

“You have be careful with fast life to do crazy and strange things, it does not carry you anywhere because if you are not healthy, your dreams and aspirations will die.”

“Just one kiss can give person get glandular fever – also known as the kissing disease and HIV/AIDS is just climbing because everybody is sleeping with everybody.”

“I am currently 60 years old and I do not think that I have had five boyfriends who have slept with in the whole Republic of Liberia; because I don’t worry about them, some of them have died; some are not here anymore, so when I step on the stage I don’t be a shame because there is no man who I have slept with that’s here and  what give you the pride.”

“Nobody coming to me and say that women fine, so I want because you and me are not in that one self. The man that I want will walk to that man and say this is the man I want.”

“To be sleeping all around has become a common among the young people; we see people doing all kinds of dancing.

The program also graced by the British Ambassador, Neil Bradley brought together young girls from schools from all over Monmtserrado County.
