VP Taylor dedicates CT-scan and modern Lab at ELWA Hospital

Monrovia-Liberia’s Vice President Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor has dedicated a CT Scan equipment and a modern Dentist Lab at the ELWA Hospital in the Monrovia suburb of Paynesville.

VP Howard-Taylor, who dedicated the facility over the weekend, thanked the ELWA management and the Samaritan’s Purse under whose initiative the facility was constructed, a release from the Office of the Vice President said.

While lauding the faith-based Organization for its efforts in Liberia, the Liberian Vice President called on the Management of the Hospital to continue effort towards improving the health sector, referencing the construction of a Rehab Center at the health facility.

VP Howard- Taylor who deputized for His Excellency, President George M. Weah, quoted the President as welcoming the gesture which he described as a very impactful to the health sector of the country.

She recalled the long running efforts of the ELWA Hospital, dating as far back as the 70s, noting that the Faith-based institution has since been involved with development of the country and its people.

VP Howard-Taylor particularly embraced the installation of the CT Scan machine, noting it timely in helping to addressing the many health challenges facing the country.

In another development, Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has briefly interacted with members of a group, “Agents of Change” in Central Monrovia.

The group, comprising predominantly youths, is involved with the task of redirecting their peers from drug abuse and other anti-social engagements that have the proclivity to endanger their future.

In a brief statement, VP Howard-Taylor enjoined young people to desist from drug abuse which’ if they failed, could destroy their lives.

She thanked the Founder of the Organization’ Mr. Gentry Taylor, for the initiative while calling on him to take the initiative to public offices, schools and other areas with the aim of discouraging the act.

The Liberian Vice President then made an initial contribution of fifty (50) acres of land located in Bomi County for the construction of a Rehabilitation Center.
