Dedicated Staff Get Recognition
KAKATA, Liberia– The Liberia National Office of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has held its 2025 Annual Staff Retreat here in the capital city of Margibi County, with a commitment to improving service delivery, as Jerome C. Willie reports.
The three-day retreat, which ended late December 2025, brought together staff from the Head Office in Congo Town and the regional offices in Tubmanburg and Harper. The retreat was held under the theme “Reinforcing Excellence and Integrity in Assessment.”
During the retreat, staff assessed the Council’s 2025 operations by examining its successes, failures, challenges, and potential threats. Participants also proffered recommendations aimed at addressing identified challenges to ensure sustained excellence and integrity in the Council’s assessment processes.
Discussions further focused on WAEC Liberia’s customer service delivery, internal operational processes, and stakeholder engagement strategies, with the goal of strengthening partnerships and improving service delivery to clients.
In his opening remarks on Sunday, December 28, 2025, the Head of National Office (HNO), Mr. Dale G. Gbotoe, described the annual retreat as a vital platform for management and staff engagement on institutional progress and shortcomings. He urged participants to actively contribute to discussions and emphasized the need for vigilance, professionalism, and integrity, particularly during the conduct of WAEC examinations, to curb examination irregularities.
