4 months after leaked audio: Suspended Bong Supt. Esther Walker, others beg Pres. Weah

Gbarnga, Liberia- Nearly four months after her suspension in connection her revelations alarming comments by some senior CDC officials, the suspended Bong County Superintendent, Madam Esther Walker is begging President George Weah for her reinstatement.

Superintended Walker was suspended by Liberia’s President George Manneh Weah a day after a leaked audio went viral on the social media and on some local radio stations in Liberia.

In the leaked recording, Superintendent Walker, a close associate of Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor, was heard revealing to unknown individuals on January 28, 2019, shortly after President George M. Weah gave his State of the Union Address, that she was confronted by the Minster of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel McGill and Finance Minister Samuel Tweh that VP Taylor and Bong County District #3 Representative Marvin Cole were out to assassinate President Weah.

The suspended Bong County Superintendent also revealed that in a tense atmosphere at President Weah’s Jamacia Resort in Monrovia, she was told by the two Ministers that VP Taylor had masterminded the given of the Dakpaana traditional Sande and Poro societies title by the County to the Liberian Vice President which should have being given to the President.

But barely four months since Superintendent Walker was suspended, suspended Superintendent Walker has joined hundreds of rural women headed by the Bong County Village Saving Loan Association to appeal to the President for reinstatement.

In the Bong County capital, Gbarnga recently, several of the women groups, including the Muslim and Christian Communities, joined suspended Bong County Superintendent Esther Nyamah Walker to appeal to the President for reinstatement.

If the appeal, was done through Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf.

The women want to see the reinstatement of the suspended Bong County Superintendent, if President George Manneh Weah agrees.

A member of the Association, Madam Fatu Baynay said they regret the situation but President Weah should see reason to reinstate Madam Walker.

She told the Internal Affairs Minister that President Weah is not just a President but a Father for all Liberians, maintaining that the Liberian Leader should have piety on the suspended superintendent.

According to her, Madam Walker has over the past immensely worked for the People of the County and letting her to step aside will not be fine.

Even though the Muslim community was not invited, it was represented by some officials who joined their voices to appeal to the President.

Mr. Aleu Abu Siakor a member of the Community said President Weah did not make a mistake to appoint Madam Walker, because she serves will impartiality.

At the same time, Suspended Superintendent Walker expressed serious regret and promise not to ever have such situation repeated.

Madam Walker pledged her commitment to always worg for the people of the County. When reinstated which will promo the government’s pro poor agenda for prosperity and development.

For his part, Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf promised to extend the message to President Weah and told the women that he strongly believes that the President will accept the appeals.

According to him, they as government officials just have to accept the appeals of Madam Walker because she has shown high level of commitment of her willingness to support the current government.
