6 Suspected Narcotic Drug Dealers Arrested With Nearly LD$1M In Grand Cape Mt.

Amid the increasing wave of illicit drug trafficking and use in Liberia, the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) detachment in the western Grand cape Mount County has arrested six persons believed to be narcotic drug dealers.

According to the LDEA boss, Thomas Saye in Western Liberia.  (LDEA) made the arrests during a special operation launched code named: ‘Operation safe Robertsport on February 5, 2021 in the Cape Mount capital city, Robertsport.

Director Saye disclosed that they received a tip off from residents of the community who according to him, have earlier complained of the high rate of drugs activities in many communities within the city limit.

Upon hearing such information from the residents, he launched a special operations and arrested a   drugs from the six persons which valued is placed at 933, 575 Liberian dollar.  The current exchange rate in Monrovia  is hovering around 170 Liberian dollars to one United States dollars.

Those arrested are Moore James, a Liberian, age 32 and he was arrested with 15 wraps cocaine and 2 warps of marijuana; Joseph Grey, a Nigerian, age 23 was arrested with 13 tubes of Heroine, Decontee Chea, a Liberian, age 40 was arrested with 23 wraps of cocaine.

Others are Seidu Wilson, Liberian, age 14 and he was arrested with 23 wraps of cocaine; and Helena Joe, a Liberian.

These suspects are currently behind bars, pending investigation by the LDEA.

The LDEA boss in the county is calling on all citizens and residents of Grand Cape Mount to discourage drugs trafficking and use in the county by reporting all drug dealers in their communities, assuring all citizens of confidentiality.

Grand Cape Mount County is used as one of the major Transit points of drugs in Western Liberia, as this area shares border with with neighboring Sierra Leone, which is considered by many Liberians as one of the major sources for the influx of illicit drugs into this country.
