8 of Liberia’s 15 Counties Hit By Coronavirus, With More Confirmed Cases Recorded

Liberian Health authorities say the number of counties now affected by the Coronavirus pandemic has gone up to eight, with the western Gbapolu County being the latest.

Liberia has 15 counties and this brings the total number of confirmed cases to 189, as the total number of deaths remains at 20, according to the most recent COVID-19 Update stats released in Monrovia on May 6, 2020. There are now 79 recoveries.

“#LiBCOVID19 Case Update: 11 new cases confirmed and 4 new recoveries reported as of 10:00 PM, 6th May 2020.”

The upsurge of confirmed cases of the virus comes as Liberia ends its fourth week of Stay at home restriction being enforced by the George Weah government under the ongoing State of Emergency.
