And Embarking On Planting 5,000 Trees
As part of its Staff Enrichment Strategy, Young Women’s Action for Rights, Peace and Democracy (YWARPD) undertook a one-day staff workshop in Monrovia, as it prepares to begin a massive awareness of first-time voters about their civic responsibilities and the need for nonviolent elections in October.
The workshop, which was attended by the Program Management Team, Board of Directors and volunteers of the organization, was also intended to make preparations for the YWARPD’s project to embark on the planting of 5,000 trees in Liberia.
A press release says the workshop provided the platform to analyze the strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats of the organization and to also draw up an Inclusive Program Plan of Actions for 2023.
The participants discussed a number of activities including the finalization of registration and engagements with new partners, drawing up of financial policy and the pending visit of National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and partnership as well as advocacy Strategy.
The workshop was facilitated by Richelieu Allison, Executive Director of the Center for Security Studies and Development (CENSSAD), Arthur Becker, Project Officer, Multilateral Agreement at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Mr. Charles Johnnick, Executive Director of Voice Against Violence (VAV) and Mr. Emmanuel Trokon Johnson, Technical Consultant of YWARPD, who is also a Mandela Washington Fellow.
