After 27 Months Of Pregnancy, Woman Successfully Gives Birth In Lofa County, Liberia

VOINJAMA, Liberia- The normal pregnancy cycle for a woman is known to be nine months, but a 32-year-old woman in the northwestern Lofa County has almost triple the cycle by giving birth after over two years of pregnancy, 163 miles from Monrovia.

On Wednesday March 9, 2022, this young Liberian woman successfully gave birth to a bouncing baby boy at the Tellewoyan government hospital here, following two years and three months of pregnancy.

According to this 32-year-old mother, she got impregnated since March 2019.

She said from the initial stage, doctors informed her that what she had was a growth and not a pregnancy but that after almost a year, the same doctors conducted other stest and realized that she was actually pregnant.

According to her, despite the many challenges and side talks from the community, she was always prayerful believing that her God was in control.

“I never stopped praying because I knew that this day was coming,” she said n a joyous mood.

Her situation is one that everyone has been so much thankful to God for as a God who works at his own time.

The 32-year-old mother has happily named her brand new child as “miracle”.

Many here are marveled by the safe delivery of this young woman after over two years carrying a pregnancy, since in fact normal pregnancy is carried for nine months.

And now, this new born infant, Miracle had had been carried in her belly for a little over two years, sparking an incredible and happy ending to what dragged on as a serious predicament.
