Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Liberia has made a significant contribution to the local community School by renovating facilities and donating school materials valued at thousands of dollars to the Community Kids Baptist Academy located on the 12th Street in Sinkor, Monrovia.
The donation event, part of AGL’s corporate social responsibility initiative, included back bags, notebooks, pencils, coloring materials, and pens, aimed at supporting education in the country.
AGL Liberia has been a cornerstone in the logistics and transport sectors for several years, providing customized solutions that assist in the socio-economic development of the country.
The AGL’s Regional Director for Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, Captain Fabjanko Kokan, emphasized the importance of education during the donation ceremony.
He urged both local and foreign companies to invest in the education of vulnerable children, stating, “Education is the most powerful weapon that will change Liberia, Africa, and the world.”
Mr. Kokan called on multi-million-dollar companies operating in Liberia to step up their contributions to child or children education, stressing that silence or refusal to help will not benefit society.
He highlighted the critical role companies play in fostering a productive environment for future generations especially in education.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Principal of Community Kids Baptist Academy, Mr. Kahien Gbuway, expressed gratitude for AGL’s support, describing it as timely.
Parental contributions through school fees primarily go to teacher salaries, which limits the school’s ability to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere, he noted.
Student representative Sarafina Sorsor, a 6th grader, voiced her appreciation for the generous donation, stating, “We are grateful and will remember AGL for contributing to our education.”
Captain Kokan reassured the community that Africa Global Logistics will continue its support for the Community Kids Baptist Academy and is committed to helping both the students and school administration in the future.
