Members of the women in Peace Building Network (WIPNET) had all reasons to celebrate and carry laughter across their faces on the eve of Christmas.

This was so because Alfalit Liberia on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 started distribution of food items as Christmas to that institution.

Women in Peace Building Network (WIPNET), is a historic women organization who has over the years engaged in fasting and praying for the people Liberia.

The kickoff of the distribution was earlier awaited by the women who were dressed in lapper with white head-tire and white T-shirts.

Speaking at a brief program before the distribution of the items, Rev. Jerome Williams, acting Director of Alfalit Liberia said, it is the culture of their institution to identify with those women.

“On behalf of Alfalit, we want to say thank you for accepting our gesture to you. Like your leader said, this is something that has been happening over the years” he said.

He went on to say, the donation has been a good will of a good friend who happens to be Dr. Joseph Melton, the Alfalit International board chairperson.

Rev. Williams said “Today again, we have come to repeat what he has been doing over the years. This is his way of saying thank you for praying for not only for Liberia, even for him and the world.”

Additionally, he said “this is what he has for you for your Christmas celebration, receive it and always trust that God will bless him to do more.”

He indicated that his institution allocated the total of about 2,000 bags of rice, vegetable oil, beans, and chicken soup.

Some of the women were seen singing Gospel songs in some of Liberia vernaculars when the items were officially turned over to them.

Hawa Sumo, of Peace Island in a very happy mood said “My people, let God bless you and your children for identifying with us”.
