Amid Chairs Shortage In Public Schools, Bong Sen. Tokpa Makes Intervention

As the Liberian government strives to improve the quality of education across the country, public schools lack chairs and other basic facilities, and this is one of the needs that Bong County Senator, Dr. Henrique Flomo Tokpa has begun to assist in easing the difficulties.

Dr. Henrique, a former President of the Cuttington University, has begun the distribution of arm chairs to several public schools across Bong County in central Liberia.

The Senator’s gesture is aimed at addressing the scarcity of sitting capacity school going kids encounter in various schools across the county.

The office, through Cassius Kpoe, Chairman of the Friend of Tokpa recently started the distribution with 1,000 arm chairs to 20 public schools in the County.

Sen. Tokpa, according to Mr. Kpoe, was approached by some Administrators concerning the scarcity of sitting capacity in their different institutions since the Liberian educator got elected to the honorable Liberian senate in 2018.

Mr. Kpoe said, “When Dad got elected as Senator of Bong County he committed himself to produce 4000 arm chairs for school going kids in the County

“Today we embarked on the distribution to three schools in Bong namely; David Faijue High school in Gbartala, Yellequeleh Diatrict, (received 70 pieces), Chief Compound Public school in Gbarnga, (received 50 pieces) and K. Diabolo Jr. high School in Wainsue (received 50 pieces) of chairs,” Mr. Kpoe said.

The distribution exercise is simultaneously being conducted across various schools over the next few days.

At the same time, the Bong County Senator’s financial aid scheme is said to be benefitting more than five hundred students, many of whom that are attending various universities, high schools, and other professional institutions in the country.

“The Senator has also assisted so many of our youths with financial assistance to go to school across the County and other parts of Liberia,” says the office of Sen. Tokpa

Mr. Kpoe also revealed that his boss (Sen. Tokpa) has also provided loans to several women groups, and made financial interventions towards projects undertaken by various groupings throughout the county despite the prevailing situations.

He then promised the Bong County Senator’s continual efforts in creating and providing the enabling environment for the ordinary people, especially the women, children and the youths through education, micro loan, among other things.
