A quality decision that is so impactful is a likeable write-up that showcases few brilliant media icons or personalities that are making result-driven decisions that are having positive impacts at their various places of assignment in Liberian society.

Judging from history that captures impact, these administrative media professionals have been highlighted based on professionalism, commitment and visible impacts they are presently making at their respective institutions.

In observance of World Press Freedom Day that is celebrated globally, let us start with Hon. Estella Liberty-Kemoh, Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) Director General who has prioritized staff members of LBS welfare and infrastructural improvement of LBS, since her appointment in October 2020 and up to present.

Ambassador Estella has lobbied to ensure that the entire LBS compound received asphalt pavement, which has helped to beautify the nation’s pride front view, thus making LBS to get a positive facelift.

Madam Liberty, as she is popularly referred to, has modernized LBS’ media contents for the radio and television.

The LBS Director General who has obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Diplomacy, is working tirelessly to modernize LBS’ studios and is also prioritizing employment accommodation for women and men at the nation’s pride to professionally compete, thus promoting global calls for women’ empowerment.

Mrs. Kemoh performed smartly when he served as president for reporters covering the Liberian Legislature (Capitol Building).

*Dr. Josephus Gray, Dean of the Professor Amos C. Sawyer College of Social Sciences and Humanities, is an experienced print media personality who has transformed the former Liberia College by motivating lecturers, professors to write books and improve on their lessons/ teaching materials to meet current day reality.

He has introduced thesis writing as an important requirement to obtain undergraduate degrees from the college he presently serves as Dean.

Dr. Gray has attracted friendly relationships with other learning institutions outside Liberia to promote capacity building for all staff members of the Professor Amos C. Sawyer College.

He has encouraged the College to honor lecturers and professors who have written books and performed outstandingly at the University of Liberia (UL).

The UL Dean, who is a well-decorated diplomat, is using his journalistic and diplomatic skills to make his college one of the best in West Africa and the world at large.

*Mr. Urias Togar, Chairman of the University of Liberia (UL) Mass Communication and Media Studies Department, has introduced certificates and diplomas programs for journalists and media workers who are interested in building their academic capacities and preparing for the job market.

Mr. Togar who has obtained a master’ degree and is a candidate for PHD, has created opportunities for young graduates of UL to acquire master’ degrees in Media studies to onward serve the University of Liberia’s Mass Communication Department.

He has also introduced new media(social) as a required course to obtain a degree from UL’s department, he currently serves as Chairman.

*Mr. Lennart Dodoo, News Desk Chief of Front-Page Africa Newspaper, is one of Liberia’s smartest and stylish Editors who has worked dutifully to make Front Page Africa a credible and widely followed print media entity in Liberia and the world at large.

Based on his brilliant journalistic work that he is so passionate of, he was honored in May 2022 as Journalist of the Year by the Press Union of Liberia (PUL).

Ambassador Roberts Haynes, Director of the House of Representatives (54th Liberian Legislature), is a stylish and youthful media personality who has elevated the popular generational change conversation that prepared/qualified young people when given opportunities, there is a likelihood for smart performance.

He is a proactive Public Relations Specialist who is well-schooled in promoting the images of 73 Representatives of the 54th Legislature.

The Liberian trained diplomat is noted for packaging catchy media contents for legislative reporters who are presently covering the Liberian legislature.

Mrs. Winnie Saywah- Jimmy, Managing Publisher of the Inquirer Newspaper, is a versatile Editor who deeply understands all sectors of the Liberian media.

She is so passionate about women’s professional development in the Liberian media, which has been practicalized by accommodating promising females in the Inquirer Newspaper newsroom.

Mrs. Jimmy has a humble background in the Liberian media, which is dated as far back as a reporter, editor and now Managing Publisher of the famous Inquirer Newspaper.

She has also helped to improve the image of the Female Journalist Association that prioritizes women’s issues.

* Mr. Jimmy Fahngon, Editor -In- Chief of The News Newspaper, is a development-driven Editor who believes in professionalism and he is so curious to get the facts, when issues of controversial nature are highlighted.

He is a trusted media personality who has good human relationships and has worked tirelessly for the News Newspaper and the Liberian media at large.

Mr. Fahngon is a promoter of press speech and he supports professional journalism that depends on facts to promote Liberia’s democracy and development.

Mr. Anthony B. Roberts, Financial Comptroller of the National Transit Authority (retired Broadcast Journalist-Power FM & King FM), has been recorded as an eloquent broadcast journalist who is so passionate about education and youth development.

His desire for professional development has enabled him to acquire a first degree, and now he is a candidate in June this year to obtain his master’ degree in Banking and Finance from Cuttington University Graduate and Professional School.

Mr. Julu Johnson, an experienced Editor and now Secretary General of the United Methodist Annual Conference, is a practical print media editor who has developed the journalistic writing and editing skills of several Liberian journalists who are presently making impact at their various entities.

He has a history of nurturing hidden journalistic talents that are now more forceful in the public and private sectors in Liberia.

Mr. Johnson who is so passionate about youth development presently serves as coach for the Press Union of Liberia football team.

*Mr. Clarence Jackson, Station Manager of Ok FM, has an attractive tone/voice that draws the attention of people from all walks of life because he is an issues-driven talk show host and a media manager.

He has promoted and provided professional tutelage for several rural and urban journalists, thus making him one of the shining lights in the Liberian media.

*Mr. Abraham Godsent Wheon, Manager of Freedom FM is so passionate about sports, which has helped to promote football and other games in Liberia.

His passion for professional development has allowed him to enroll in the Lewis Arthur Grimes Schools of Law, where he is presently a student.
