Since its establishment in 2000, the Botoe Barclay Public School in Nyan, Fuamah District, Bong Mine, Bong County is being blessed with an Auditorium, which is situated 80 kilometers east of Monrovia.

The facility which cost a little over three thousand United States dollars (US$3,000) was constructed and dedicated by Representative Joseph Papa Kolleh of District #7 in Bong County.

Representative Kolleh speaking at the dedicatory ceremony on Thursday, February 17, 2022 said the project is in response to request made to him by students of the Botoe Barclay Public School when he served as guest speaker for the second graduation ceremony of the institution during the 2017 general and presidential elections.

“You know during the campaign tour we were called to serve as guest speaker for the second graduation ceremony of this Botoe Barclay High School. I was asked by some students who said Hon. Kolleh can you help us with an auditorium that can be used for our program?

I said no problem, so I said your fifth graduation ceremony we will fix your auditorium so it can be used for that day”, Rep. Kolleh explained.

The Lawmaker said he thought it wise to construct the auditorium for the benefit of the students especially so during their graduation.

According to him, the construction of the auditorium started a few months back adding that things were difficult, but by the grace of God it’s being completed.

He noted that it’s always good when promises are made to people during political campaigns, those who make such commitments return and have their commitments fulfilled.

The Bong County Lawmaker asserted that the first project he undertook on the campus of Botoe Barclay High School is the construction of a palava hut.

He recounted that his second project was the provision of books for the institution aimed at preparing the senior students for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

As the result of this project, several senior students made a successful pass in WASSCE, according to the Bong County lawmaker.

In a related development, the Bong Lawmaker has vowed to fulfill promises that were made by him during the 2017 general and presidential elections.

Rep. Kolleh narrates: “So before we end 2022, any promise I made anywhere will be completed and be given back to the people”.

Already, the Bong County District #7 Representative said some of the projects initiated by him in the different places he made campaign promises are completed while others are almost ninety-nine percent done.

He stated that this is intended to avoid embarrassment comes 2023 when he’s campaigning across the district.

Rep. Kolleh at the same time assured residents of Nyan in Fuamah District that he will begin the construction of a youth center he promised them at the end of February 2022.

The Bong County Representative further told the citizens that distributing money among them will mean no good as it will only benefit minority, especially those who are at the top.

Meanwhile, Rep. Kolleh has urged the outgoing seniors of the Botoe Barclay High School and those in the senior class to go beyond grade 12.

“To my student body and those that graduating tomorrow, 12th grade shouldn’t be your limit, your limit should be the sky; and those who are sitting here today, be focus on your education because education is the key to success,” he admonished the students.

He told the students that many people are involved into the consumption of narcotic substances (drugs) thereby encouraging them to be focus and learn their lessons.

Additionally, Rep. Kolleh said two years from now the young people who are the future generation of Liberia will be in charge of leadership while the older folks will be providing guidance.

For their parts, the administration and students of Botoe Barclay High School and the local leadership of Fuamah District have lauded the Representative for the construction of the auditorium.
