Campaigners Against Misinformation and Disinformation in Liberia (CAMDL), a local nonprofit, has trained over twenty (20) members of the Civil Servant Association of Liberia, including civil servants with disabilities in Liberia, on information verification.
The training empowered civil servants with vital skills in verifying online information. The civil servants learned how to use online tools such as ScamDoc and Google Reverse Image Search to verify information.
According to Taweh Johnson, Executive Director of CAMDL, the training was in celebration of International Fact-Checking Day. International Fact-Checking Day is celebrated on April 2nd every year to celebrate fact-checkers globally.
Taweh Johnson further stated that the training has enabled civil servants to counter false information because they too can fall prey to false information and the training has maintained the integrity of the information landscape in Liberia.
