Civil Service Agency Begins Credential Audit At The Liberian Judiciary

The CIVIL SERVICE AGENCY (CSA) has been mandated to BEGIN PERSONNEL VERIFICATION AND CREDENTIAL AUDIT AT JUDICIARY BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT

In a press release issued by the Public Affairs section of the Judiciary, The Civil Service Agency (CSA), by directive of the Chief Justice of the Honorable Supreme Court of Liberia, His Honor Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Sr. will conduct a Personnel Verification and Credential Audit exercise at the Judiciary Branch of Government beginning Thursday August 28, 2025 to Thursday September 4, 2025, beginning with the 1 & 6th Judicial Circuits Montserrado County.

The release said, the exercise is in fulfillment of the commitment made by His Honor the Chief Justice to ensure that all staff of the Judiciary have the required academic qualification and experience that align with their assigned duties for effective performance.

It can be recalled that upon taking Seat as the Chief Justice of the honorable Supreme Court of Liberia and Head of the Judiciary Branch of Government on August 15, 2025, His Honor Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Sr. promised to cautiously continue with the Rebranding Program of his predecessor and will make appropriate changes where necessary. “We will conduct what I call ‘credential audits’ to ensure that all staff of the Judiciary have the required academic qualification and experience to effectively perform their assigned duties”, the Chief Justice stated.

In line with the Chief Justice’s directive, the CSA has constituted three (3) teams to carry out this Personnel Verification and Credential Audit exercise at three venues simultaneously. These areas include:

  1. Team A-Temple of Justice: Coverage will include:

(a) All Judges, Magistrates and staff of the Temple of Justice

(b) The Court Administrator, Directors and employees within the Temple of Justice

(c) The Magistrates and staff of the West Point Magisterial Court

  1. Team B-Paynesville Magisterial Court: Coverage will include:

(a) The Magistrates and staff of the Paynesville Magisterial Court

(b) The Magistrates and staff of the Omega Magisterial Court

(c) The Magistrates and staff of the Careysburg Magisterial Court

  1. Team C-Gardnersville Magisterial Court: Coverage will include:

(a) Magistrates and staff of the Gardnersville Magisterial Court

(b) Magistrates and staff of the Bushrod Island Magisterial Court

(c) Magistrates and staff of the Brewerville Magisterial Court

(d) Magistrates and staff of the Arthington Magisterial Court

According to a judicial release, the personnel verification is intended to ensure that all Judiciary staff on the government’s payroll are accounted for, whilst the credential audit is to ensure that judicial personnel have the requisite qualification and experience to effectively perform their assigned duties; hence, the Civil Service Agency has requested that all employees appearing before their Verification Teams MUST exhibit the original copies of their academic credentials and their National Identification Card.

“This exercise, which runs for a period of seven (7) days, is mandatory, by order of His Honor the Chief Justice; therefore, any staff of the Judiciary failing to adhere to this mandate will face severe administrative consequences”.

Meanwhile, His Honor Chief Justice Gbelsay, Sr. has extended heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Director General and staff of the Civil Service Agency (CSA) for their support in this endeavor, the releases concluded.
