Kakata, Liberia- A young woman is one of four alleged notorious criminals who are now in police detention in Kakata, Margibi County, 730 kilometers from the Liberian capital, Monrovia.

The Margibi County detachment of the Liberia National Police over the weekend arrested four alleged notorious criminals in Kakata City.

The arrests took place in the Wenneh Town Community, barely a week after the County Police provided members of the Community Watch Forum (CWF) with materials including flash lights, batteries, bags of 25kg rice and cash to beef up their operations.

Those arrested are Clinton Menwoe alias Devil Busy, age 18 and a resident of Wenneh Town Community, New York; Judas Gibson alias three strips Adidas, age 18 and a resident of Wenneh Town Community. Others are Jacob S. Climmie, alias J. Promise, age 19; and a resident of Kwesie Town and Rita Morris age, 16, a resident of Holder Farm, Wenneh Town Community, respectively.

The Chief Superintendent of Police in the County, Sylvester Hina told newsmen in Kakata over the weekend that the criminals were arrest after Police got a tip off from the head of the Community Watch Forum in the Wenneh Town Community.

“This morning (Friday August 9, 2019); around 2:15 this morning while on our patrol in the City of Kakata we were called by the head of the Watch Forum (CWF) team in Wenneh Town, we swiftly proceeded to their look and when we got there the head of the Watch team that was operating this morning informed us that there were some guys in a house so we proceeded there in Wenneh Town, New York and when we got there the Watch team members were already on the ground,” the Margibi Police Boss said.

He stated that Police then moved to the house and opened the door only to find out that the alleged criminals (armed robbers) the Police have been searching for in the County were in the house.

The Margibi Police Commander revealed that doing the 172nd Independence Day raid, the names of the criminals arrested surfaced and were short listed.

Mr. Hina narrated that several sharp instruments such as knives, cutlasses, scissors, shovels and diggers were found in the house in which the four persons were arrested.

Meanwhile, the Police Commander in Kakata said in order to reduce the crime rate in the County, the Police has begun revamping or reawakening the Watch Forum in the various Communities.

He made particular emphasis on the recent donation made to the Watch Forum Team of Wenneh Town promising to do same to Lango Town, Sugar Hill and Gbandi Community among others.

He used the occasion to call for the cooperation of all Margibians stating that once the proper information is given to the Police by the Community dwellers, they will perform their part of the duty.
